WARNING TO ALL JOB SEEKERS THROUGH PUBLIC SERVICE RECRUITMENT SECRETARIAT SYSTEM

The Public Service Secretariat warns its stakeholders to beware of phishing scandals by using the names of some of the Institute's leaders to solicit money bribes to help them find jobs in the state.

The Labor Secretariat warns this after receiving complaints from some job applicants who have claimed to be telephoned by self-identified people using the names of some of the Employment Secretariat leaders and demanding money as a prerequisite for assisting them in the recruitment process and eventually find a job opportunity.

The Government through the Public Service Secretariat does not have the procedure for soliciting any kind of cash or gifts from job applicants as a prerequisite for getting a job in government. It is well understood that the State Employment Process is compliant with the Laws, Regulations and Procedures and is transparently conducted from the point of view of the job announcement, the call-to-action announcement and the announcement of the job placement and otherwise.

In addition, we caution all our stakeholders to be careful about joining other social networks including filling in their personal information which sometimes enables hackers to download such information and use it to fraudulent applicants, including those who use it. Internet Cafe services should remember to delete or retrieve documents and information they went with, once they have completed the work to avoid unauthorized persons accessing their information.

In the meantime, while our Office is continuing with the investigation to identify such frauds in order to take legal action, we believe our stakeholders will increase their awareness and take precautions with such individuals.
